Mollie Cogliano

Early Childhood Educator

Mollie Cogliano

Mollie Cogliano is a passionate and dedicated educator with extensive experience in early childhood education. Her journey into teaching began at Newton North High School, where she taught toddlers and preschoolers while earning certification through the Child Development major. She later pursued her degree in Elementary Education at the University of Maine at Farmington and is currently certified to teach children from birth through eighth grade.

While living in New Orleans, Mollie discovered her deep love for working with infants. Since then, she has devoted herself to providing the best possible early childhood experiences, specializing in both the Montessori and RIE (Resources for Infant Educarers) approaches. She believes that infants are capable of much more than we often assume and takes great joy in observing their "aha" moments—whether it's lifting their head for the first time, drinking a bottle independently, or taking their first steps.

Mollie’s approach to infant education is deeply rooted in the Montessori philosophy, which emphasizes respect, independence, and a carefully prepared environment tailored to the child’s developmental needs.

The Montessori foundation is especially transformative for infants, offering a nurturing space where they can explore at their own pace, develop motor and cognitive skills naturally, and form secure relationships with their caregivers. Through a combination of Montessori principles and the RIE approach, Mollie ensures that infants feel respected and heard.

She narrates their actions, invites them to respond, and always asks for consent before engaging in activities—honoring their agency and individuality from the very beginning of life.

Her Nido classroom is a warm and caring space where infants are provided with the freedom to explore while feeling supported and safe. Every interaction is guided by the principles of trust and respect, fostering strong, secure attachments and a lifelong love of learning.

Beyond the classroom, Mollie enjoys spending time with her husband watching movies and TV shows, going on walks, and indulging in fantasy novels. She also loves being outdoors, gardening, and closely following football—cheering on all the Boston teams. If you're a Patriots fan, be sure to stop by and chat with her!
